17-year-old billiard-player from Penza intends to become the world champion

Penza, 7 October 2011. PenzaNews. Penza sportsman, 17-year-old Alexander Murav'ev won the championship of Russia on Russian billiards, which took place in Ulyanovsk from October, 2nd till October, 5th. He intends to win also the World championship which starts in Kiev in the end of October.

During the press conference in the press center of news agency "PenzaNews" on Friday, October, 7th Alexander Murav'ev said: "First of all, I will try to receive a rank of master of sports of the international class, well, and, of course, to become the world champion. It is very illusive, but I hope I will be".
Speaking about the victory in the championship of Russia, the 17-year-old sportsman said that hte competitions included three disciplines — Russian, Moscow and free pyramids. In the final game which lasted about five hours, Alexander Murav'ev won Cyril Filippov from the Rostov region with the score 3:2.
According to the vice-president of billiard sports of the Penza region Vladimir Ledovsky, it's the first time in history of Russian billiards that Alexander Murav'ev from Penza became the champion of Russia and also the third champion at the age of 17 years after such masters of cue, as Evgenie Stalev and Pavel Mehovov.
The trainer of the sportsman Igor Jasinetsky said: "The first place in the championship of Russia is a sensation and a miracle for us. We trained 7 years, and achieved such results due to League of billiards fans tournaments. I believe that Alexander who has already become a skillful sportsman will become the world champion".
Vladimir Ledovsky said: "This victory raised the level of billiard sports in our region very highly. Earlier we took the second, fourth, fifth places now we have a champion, and, naturally, the youth will try to achieve the same results and they will have skillful partners for trainings".
