Penza, 7 December 2011. PenzaNews. The third open championship of the Penza region on figure skating is held on an ice skating rink “Arena” of Kuznetsk from December, 5th till December, 8th.

More than 130 sportsmen 5 - 18 years old from different cities of the country: Penza, Kuznetsk, Moscow, Ufa, Yaroslavl, Orenburg, Samara, Ryazan, Ruzaevka, Nizhni Novgorod, Saransk take part in competitions.

The main judge of the competitions Dmitry Shamonin said in interview to the Internet service “Penza-sport” that the main advantage of tournament is that it allows to reveal sportsmen who can become the best ones in the future.

Dmitry Shamonin said: “Arseny Slovyagin from Kuznetsk performed perfectly. Earlier only the residents of Penza showed good results among all representatives of the Penza region. It means that figure skating development is promoted in Kuznetsk thank to new ice arena and fine work of the trainer Natalia Cheplanova”.

The first best sportsmen were awarded during the first day of the competition. In the category “Young figure skater” in single driving among girls the first place was taken by Maria Koroleva, among young men Nikita Kokomov was the best one.

In single driving among girls of the youth category the winner became Anastasiya Krasnova. Ivan Belkov was the best among young men.
