Penza, 10 January 2012. PenzaNews. City cup on ice fishing “Christmas ice fishing jig – 2012” took place on the territory of hotel complex “Chistye Prudy” in village Ramzay village of Mokshansky area of the Penza region on Sunday, January, 8th.

According to the vice-president of the regional federation of fishing sports Alexey Homenko, 25 representatives of Penza, Voronezh and Tambov fought for a cup.

As he said, the winner was defined in personal offset during two rounds of 2.5 hours.

Alexey Homenko explained: “The fisher from Voronezh was the best in the first round and kept his position in the second one and won the cup. His catch was 1 kg of 986 grams”.

Penza sportsman Sergey Dobrohotov with total catch 1 kg 324 grams became the silver prize-winner, the third place was taken by the representative of Penza Igor Gluhov with 918 grams catch.

The vice-president of federation of fishing sports of the Penza region said: “Not only men, but also women and children took part in “Christmas ice fishing jig – 2012” I can’t but admit that one of female participants of competitions Olga Matkina didn’t have only 5 grams to get a bronze medal and took the forth place having 913 grams catch”.
