Penza, 7 February 2012. PenzaNews. An athlete from Penza Artem Gaybaev won a gold medal at the Volga Federal District Judo Championship for juniors under the age of 20 which opened at Burtasy Sports Palace in Penza on Monday, February 6.

“Artem was the best in the 90 kg weight category. He is the first athlete from Penza to take part in the Russian Championship which will be held in Anapa from February 29 to March 5 this year” Internet portal “Penza-Sport” quotes President of the Regional Judo Federation Edward Kopylov as saying.

Athletes in the light weight categories including 9 judo fighters from Penza will compete on the second day of the competition, February 7.
