Penza, 7 February 2012. PenzaNews. 30th Open All-Russian Mass Cross-Country Ski Race “Russian Ski Run – 2012” will take place in the Olympic Alley in Penza on Sunday, February 12.

As press service of the city administration told news agency PenzaNews, it is expected that about 8 thousand people will take part in the race.

“The race will include 5 km, 10 km and VIP race (2.14 km) distances,” explained the press service.

The official opening of the competition is scheduled for 9.45am Moscow time.

“Russian Ski Run” is traditionally the biggest winter sports event in Russian in terms of the number of its participants and its geographical scope.

It is expected that over 600 thousand people from 68 regions of the Russian Federation will take part in the race in 2012.

Admission to the “Russian Ski Run - 2012” race is open to all citizens regardless of age subject to availability of doctor’s permission or a written confirmation of personal responsibility for one’s health.

Upon admission by the mandate commission all participants receive a shirt number and a cap.
