Penza student to have training preparation for North Pole expedition

Penza, 21 February 2012. PenzaNews. The student of Penza State University Veronica Dolzhenkova being a candidate on participation in the fifth annual All-Russia youth expedition “Ski Trip to the North Pole” will take part in preliminary training which will take place in Karelia from February 27 till March 9.
According to Julia Volkonitina, the press secretary of Regional Sport Committee, the girl from Penza is one of 60 applicants. 7 of them will be selected as participants of the expedition.
According to action position, during gathering profound medical inspection of candidates, psychological testing and check of physical preparation will be spent.
As it was reported earlier, the citizens from 16-year-old and upward can become participants of the fifth annual All-Russia youth expedition “Ski Trip — to the North Pole” which will take place from April 11 till April 23.
The sportsmen must have experience of first category complexity hikes, be a participant of competitions “Russian Ski Run” in any region of the Russian Federation and have notarially certified parents’ permission.
It is supposed that tourists will go from the Russian polar station “Barneo” to a point of geographical North Pole on ices of Arctic ocean.
In 2010 Kuznetsk sportsman Eldar Kashaev from the Penza region took part in “Ski Trip — to the North Pole”.
