Penza, 21 March 2012. PenzaNews. Opening ceremony of Russian championship on gymnastics among women and juniors took place in Burtasy Sports Palace in Penza on Wednesday, March 21. Deputy Prime Minister, the head of department of regional development of the Penza region Elena Stolyarova, the chairman of regional sport committee Grigory Kabelsky, the president of gymnastics federation of the region Valery Starkin and also the head coach of Russian national team on gymnastics Andrey Rodionenko greeted athletes and audience.

Elena Stolyarova, addressing to the audience, noted that the championship is not only competition of high level, but also a holiday for all fans of gymnastics.

“I wish gymnasts beautiful victories and rivals’ applause, I wish trainers good selection of athletes in Russian national team and bright show to the audience,” she said.

Pupils of Penza school of sport and rhythmic gymnastics showed a performance at the end of the opening ceremony.
