Penza, 3 May 2012. PenzaNews. Bicycle race will take place in the city of Zarechny of the Penza region on May 20. Everybody can participate in the race.

According to the head of the public relations department of municipal government Tatyana Saltsova, the race will be held as a part of the project “Reduce Number of Motor Vehicles in City by Development of Foot and Bicycle Infrastructure,” developed by the resident of Zarechny Alexander Rozhkov.

“The purpose of the action is to draw public’s attention to the problem of air gas contamination in the city,” explained the spokesperson.

The spokeswoman noted that two routes would be developed for the bicycle race: for children and teenagers and also for more skilled cyclists.

After the race the festive program will be organized for the residents of the city at Lenin Square and in park Zarechie in the center of the city.
