Penza, 18 May 2012. PenzaNews. Trophy cups for rewarding the winners of competitions on sports will be created in the Penza region. This initiative was announced by the governor Vasily Bochkarev during the meeting with the pupil of Penza hockey, the owner of Gagarin Cup Yury Babenko on Friday, May 18.

“Before the meeting I learnt the history of Gagarin Cup and I had an idea to create something like this in Penza for different kinds of sports and name trophies after our well-known fellow countrymen,” said Vasily Bochkarev.

The head of the region charged the chairman of the regional sport committee Grigory Kabelsky who supported Vasily Bochkarev’s initiative to work out this idea.

“Cups can be made of crystal with silver and gold and their owners can go with a trophy to various areas of the Penza region and also to the neighbor regions,” Vasily Bochkarev concluded.
