Competitions for the prizes of the Russian Swimming Federation finished in Penza

Penza, 12 July 2012. PenzaNews. All-Russian Youth Swimming Competition finished in Water Sports Palace “Sura” in Penza on Thursday, July 12. 300 swimmers of two age categories, girls of 11–12 years old and boys of 13–14 years old, took part in the tournament. “All of them had successfully performed in the All-Russian Children’s Festival “Veseluy Delfin” (Merry Dolphin) held on 25–29 April in St. Petersburg,” Executive Director of the Regional Swimming Federation Viktor Tyukankin told news agency “PenzaNews.”

He noted that the Penza athlete Roman Larin successfully performed at the competition.
“The swimmer won at distances of 50 and 100 meters backstroke, and became the sixth following the results of the tournament,” he added.
Viktor Tyukankin stressed that the swimmer from Bashkortostan, Polina Egorova, performed a standard for the Master of Sports.
“At these competitions the athlete reaches such a high result for the first time. It happens very rare, because at this age children do not swim like this, especially girls,” he stated.
The program of the competition included 50, 100 and 200 meter distances.
