Penza, 7 August 2012. PenzaNews. Penza athletes Ilya Zakharov and Yevgeny Kuznetsov passed the qualifying round of individual competition in diving at the London Olympics and went straight to the semifinals.

As reported the Russian federation of diving, the qualifying round in three-meter springboard diving was held at the pool “Aquatics Centre” on Monday evening, August 6.

As a result of the preliminary stage, Ilya Zakharov showed the best result, gaining 507,65 points, the second was the Chinese Hye Jung (500,90 points), and the third — the American Troy Dumais (486,60 points).

Yevgeny Kuznetsov got to the semifinals, occupying 16th place with 440,95 points.

Semifinals and finals will be held on Tuesday, August 7.
