Penza, 17 August 2012. PenzaNews. Prize money of Triathlon European Cup stage, which will take place in the Penza region on August 18–19, will be 20 thousand euros. This was stated by the press secretary of the regional sports committee Yuliya Volkonitina.

According to her, the world strongest triathletes will take part in the competitions.

“On August 18, young men and women have to swim 750 m, ride a bike 20 km and then run 5 km. On August 19, there will be Olympic program competitions for men and women, which include 1.5 km swimming, 40 km biking distance and 10 km running distance,” she said and added that representatives of the Penza region would take part in the competition, too.

“Interest in the competitions has considerably increased compared to last year. Representatives from Colombia, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Turkey, Israel, Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Russia applied to take part in the contest,” the press secretary emphasized.
