Penza, 11 September 2012. PenzaNews. Fishing team Penza-RS consisting of Igor Shafran and Alexey Brik won the cup of the Penza region in carp sports fishing held at the pond of village Gulenovka, Serdobsk area.

According the president of fishing sports federation of the Penza region Vadim Kovalev, Igor Shafran and Alexey Brik caught 47 carps, total weight 146,64 kg, within three days of the tournament.

“Silver was won by Region 13 team — the guests from Mordovia — namely Andrey Ermolenko and Yuri Eliseev having caught 37 carps weighing 103,59 kg. Saratov Region Society of Hunters and Fishers SaratovKarpklub’s representatives Kirill Svitnev and Alexey Lapin won bronze with 37 carps weighing 99,51 kg,” Vadim Kovalev said.

He noted that in total, 14 team-couples from Penza, Kamenka, Serdobsk and Bashmakovo areas, as well as guests from Saransk, Saratov and Samara took part in the tournament.

“The biggest carp, 7,490 grams, was caught by “D & D” joint team — Andrey Katyushin from Samara and Vladislav Vershinin from Penza. In only three days of the tournament the participants caught almost 900 kg of fish,” Vadim Kovalev pointed out.
