Penza, 12 September 2012. PenzaNews. Penza hockey club Diesel began the championship marathon of the Highest Hockey League, season 2012–2013, with a defeat, losing at its own ice-ring to Saratov club Kristal with score 2:5 on Tuesday, September 11.

Penza team head coach Alexander Sokolov at a postgame press conference pointed out that the support of the fans was the only thing that pleased him.

“I have a huge grudge against our defensive line. We earned two completely useless send-offs which became decisive. The second puck in our gate thrown after the rebound was preposterous. Goalkeepers did not do their best either,” he commented.
