Penza, 12 September 2012. PenzaNews. The World Diving Championships 2014 for juniors will be held in Penza. The governor Vasily Bochkarev announced this during a briefing on the results of the meeting on the preparations for the celebration of the 350th anniversary of Penza on Wednesday, September 12.

“The final decision was made by the international swimming federation (FINA) as a result of consideration of organizational issues,” he clarified.

As it was previously reported, the possibility to host the World Diving Championships 2014 for juniors in the Palace of Sports “Burtasy” was discussed in Penza in the beginning of the year during the Russian Cup Championship held in this sports facility on January 26–31.

The initiative of Penza to become a place of the Championship belongs to the international swimming federation due to availability of the necessary material base for the world-class competition.
