The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev congratulated the players and management of women's mini-football club “Laguna UOR” with a victory in the European Cup in Milan during the meeting, which was held in the regional government on Wednesday, October 10.

The head of the region noted that the team performs consistently, achieving success in competitions at various levels.

“I'm really proud of your results. “Laguna” has good instructors and great athletes. You strive to glorify the Penza region in the first place, and that is why you are winning,” Vasily Bochkarev said.

In turn, the head coach Mikhail Kryukov informed the governor that some Penza players after winning at the European Cup, were offered contracts in Spain. “We won’t give up anyone,” he said, adding that the club needs sponsorship.

“Recently, as Russian champions we were invited to the tournament in Portugal, which will take place within the League of Champions in May 2013, however, we do not possess sufficient funds for this purpose,” Mikhail Kryukov pointed out.

Vasily Bochkarev expressed readiness to assist in organizing the trip.

The football players presented Penza governor with the pennant of Italian tournament, the medal of the Cup Winners, and the picture of the champions.

The head of the region in his turn gave each athlete a bouquet and memorable gifts.
