Penza track and field athlete won gold at Championship of Russia among juniors

Penza, 14 February 2013. PenzaNews. The athlete of Penza School of Olympic Reserve Denis Bashkirtsev won gold medal at the Russian Championship in Athletics Indoor among juniors under 20.

Competitions were held at the Special School of Olympic Reserve No. 3 in Novocheboksarsk.

17-year-old athlete was the best in 2 km distance with obstacles, and covered it in 5 minutes 42.41 seconds.

The second place in this discipline took Moscow track and field athlete Konstantin Galiullin, the third step of the podium took Vladimir Leontiev from Chuvashia.

According to the results of the race, Denis Bashkirtsev also performed the standard of Master of Sports of Russia.

The competition was attended by about 600 athletes representing 63 regions of the country, the Internet service “Penza-Sport” reported.
