IV Festival of Nordic walking to be held in Penza region

Penza, 16 May 2013. PenzaNews. IV Festival of Nordic walking, which has the regional status, will be held at the recreation center “Mikhailovskaya sloboda” in village Bolshoy Vyas, the Penza region on Saturday, May 18.

As the press service of the regional government told news agency “PenzaNews,” over 350 people of over 45 years old are expected to participate in the festival covering the distance of six km.

Nordic walking festivals are held in the Penza region twice a year — in May and September — since 2011. The region is implementing a program “Development of Nordic walking in the Penza region,” as a part of which the local authorities provided sports equipment for training for a total of over 2,2 million rubles in 2011 and 2012.
