Penza, 24 June 2013. PenzaNews. Penza swimmer, Olympic silver medalist in London Anastasia Zueva will not be able to participate in the World Championship in aquatics, which will be held in Barcelona from July 19 to August 4.

According to the athlete, she could not get in the desired shape due to injury and family circumstances.

“That’s why I would not be able to participate in the World Championship properly prepared. I thought about skipping the Universiade as well, but after a while, I decided to support our team in Kazan,” she said.

Anastasia Zueva added that in September she is having a metal plate extracted from her leg.

“After that I will start shaping up for the European Short Course. So, I am not leaving sport. It’s just about the circumstances, the year was quite difficult,” the press service of the All-Russian Swimming Federation quoted the athlete.
