Penza, 26 June 2013. PenzaNews. Thirteen athletes from Penza have good chances of taking part in the XXVII World Summer Universiade to be held in Kazan on 6–17 July.

According to the chairman of the regional sports committee Artur Panteleev, the final list of the participants will be approved by the Ministry of Sports of Russia in the nearest future.

“So far, not all of the federations decided on their participants. But it is planned that this exact number of Penza athletes will go to the Universiade,” he explained.

Among the candidates are gymnasts Denis Ablyazin and Anastasia Bliznyuk, weightlifter Nadezhda Evstyukhina, divers Nadezhda Bazhina, Maria Smirnova, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Ilya Zakharov, as well as swimmers Sergei Fesikov, Oleg Utekhin, Vitaly Borisov, Dmitry Gorbunov, Viktoria Malyutina and Anastasia Zueva, the Internet service “Penza-Sport” reported.
