Penza, 26 June 2013. PenzaNews. 15-year-old chess player from village Sosnovka, Bekovsky district, the Penza region Andrei Tersintsev became the world champion in chess among people with lesion of the musculoskeletal system in “Junior category” in the Czech Republic.

“The tournament was conducted according to the Swiss system. In the first nine rounds Andrei Tersintsev scored 5,5 points and took over his main rival Anatoly Moskvin from Moscow,” the representative of the regional federation of sports of people with lesion of the musculoskeletal system Vladimir Novikov.

He reminded that in 2012, the athlete managed to win silver of the World Cup, and a year earlier — bronze.

“The progress is obvious. Andrei Tersintsev truly wanted to be a world champion, and eventually made it. He could not make it to the international master of sports, though,” Vladimir Novikov noted.

49 players from over 20 countries fought to win, the Internet service “Penza-Sport” reported.
