Penza, 10 July 2013. PenzaNews. Penza athlete Vladimir Turbaevsky won silver at the sixth stage of the Asian Cup Triathlon held in Kokshetau, Kazakhstan.
The athlete came second with the result 1 hour 46 minutes 5 seconds.
The winner of the men’s race became Valentin Meshcheryakov performing under the name of ITU, his time was 1 hour 45 minutes 45 seconds.
The third place belongs to another Russian Dmitry Esaulov, who overcame the distance in 1 hour 46 minutes 21 seconds.
Among women, Oksana Grotto, the hostess of the competition, demonstrated the best time — 2 hours 4 minutes 22 seconds. Russian female triathletes did not participate in Kazakhstan.
The program of the event consisted of 1,5 km swimming race, 40 km cycling race, and 10 km track race.
The total prize fund of the competition amounted to 10 thousand dollars. Each winner received 1,500 dollars, silver medalists — 1,250 dollars, and those who won bronze were awarded with 1,000 dollars, the Internet service “Penza-Sport” reported.
