Penza, 28 August 2013. PenzaNews. The members of Penza tourist club “Put” [Track] covered the distance around Surskoe reservoir within 39 hours having walked 150 km.

According to the head of the tourist club Mikhail Andreyev, five teams started the competition “Surskaya Round Trip – 2013,” but two of them later left the race.

“The trip began at village Zasechny, then the teams followed to Shemysheyka, then to Koldais and Kanaevka, and completed their trip in Zolotaryevka,” he said.

According to Mikhail Andreyev, on their way the hikers had to overcome various obstacles — gullies, sand, swamps, backwater, and eight water crossings, seven of which by swimming.

“Their equipment was minimal — first aid kit, camera, tape, a small supply of food and a phone. Its total weight did not exceed 10 kg per person,” the head of the tourist club “Put.”

He also noted that they had to pass several points marked on the map, where the tourists were to take photos to prove they were there.

The hikers regularly informed about their movements and the state of their health, the Internet service “Penza-Sport” reported.
