Penza, 7 October 2013. PenzaNews. Penza athlete Sofia Smagina took the fourth place in doubles during Russian Championship finished in Tatarstan.

Playing doubles with Polina Novoselova from Kazan, she reached the semifinal of the tournament. However, in the game for the final the girls yielded the match to Moscow athletes Arina Marienko and Irina Khromacheva – 3:6, 3:6.

The tennis players lost in the match for bronze as well. They played against Julia Valetova from Podolsk and Tatiana Kotelnikova from Moscow. Only a tiebreaker decided the winners of the game, when the scales tipped in favor of the opposite team. Score of the match was 6:2, 4:6, 10:3, the Internet service “Penza-Sport” reported.
