Penza cyclists fail to win medal in Championship of Russia

Penza, 8 October 2013. PenzaNews. Penza athletes Alexader Rotyakov, Anton Lyga, Alexei Markovtsev, Nikolay Ivanov and Sergey Popov failed to get medals on the Russian Cycling Road Race Championship.

The competition was held in Maikop and Prokhladny as part of XXI marathon cycling race “Fraternity of North Caucasus Nations.”

Summarizing the results of the 13 stages Sergey Belykh from the team “Russia 21” became the winner, Anton Samokhvalov and Dmitry Mokrov from the Samara region got silver and bronze.

Alexander Rotyakov with the 23th position showed the best result among the Penza athletes. Nikolay Ivanov finished the 40th, Sergey Popov – on the 42nd position, Alexei Markovtsev – on the 47th place, Anton Lyga was the 50th.

During the race the athletes covered 1.440 km, the Internet service “Penza-Sport” reported.
