Grand master from Penza becomes prizewinner at memorial tournament in Saint Petersburg

Penza, 14 October 2013. PenzaNews. Penza grand master Dmitry Kokarev took the second place at the international chess tournament “Mikhail Chigorin Memorial,” which ended in Saint Petersburg.

The chess athlete got seven points after nine rounds. Ten other participants of the tournament gained the same number of points, so some additional parameters influenced the athletes positioning in the formulary.

Pavel Elyanov from Ukraine won the tournament, the chess player Maksim Matlakov from Saint Petersburg became the bronze prizewinner.

150 athletes from Russia, Ukraine, Spain, Turkey, Armenia, Belarus, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Israel, Qatar, Italy, Check Republic, Tadzhikistan and Kirgizia fought for the medals, the Internet service “Penza-Sport” reported.
