Penza, 11 November 2013. PenzaNews. The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev criticizes the work of children’s hockey coaches because of low results achieved.

“When you look at the team, where only six players are local trainees and the rest are players invited from other clubs, you feel bitter. All of our problems with adult hockey begin with children’s team,” Vasily Bochkarev said during the meeting with the representatives of the Regional Hockey School on Monday, November 11.

According to the governor, there is no hockey in the Penza region, because there is no strong team.

“Everyone is playing for themse-lves, to get a place in the KHL and get more money,” he remarked.

Vasily Bochkarev encharged the gathered with the task to find a solution to the issue and to create a system of selecting the truly talented youth and not to take all the children coming from the streets in the sport.

In addition, the head of the region said to the administration of the hockey club “Diesel” that the club will not get sponsor support expected from JSC “Gazprom,” because the company formed its own team in Khanty-Mansyisk and it is unprofitable to fund potential competitors.

Vasily Bochkarev stressed that no other region in the Volga Federal District has such a rich sport base for the children’s hockey development.

In this regard the governor assumed that the reasons of problems are not in the lack of financing.
