Penza female diver wins gold at all-Russian tournament

Penza, 28 November 2013. PenzaNews. Penza female diver Maria Smirnova won gold medal at the Russia’s Diving Federation Cup dedicated to the memory of the deserved trainer of the Russian Federation Anatoly Laryushkin, which is held in the sports palace “Burtasy.”
The athlete scored 242,55 points after performing dives on the 1 meter springboard.
In synchronized diving off the 1 meter springboard, the Penza athletes Irina Tonnikova and Olga Kulemina showed the second result – the duet scored 257,52 points.
Previously, the trainee of the Penza Regional Specialized Children’s and Youth Sport School of Olympic Reserve Valeriya Belova distinguished herself at the competition – paired with Tatiana Stepanova from Electrostal she took the first place in synchronized diving from the platform.
About 100 divers from the Samara, Penza, Voronezh, Volgograd, Saratov, Moscow, Leningrad, Sverdlovsk regions and Tatarstan compete for medals.
The competition will finish on Thursday, November 28, the Internet service “Penza-Sport” reported.
