Penza, 16 December 2013. PenzaNews. The construction of the palace of martial arts in Penza will be carried out twenty-four hours a day. This was reported by the general contractor – the head of the company Blits Sergei Romankov.
“After signing the contract we have worked for a month and a half. By now, the scope of work has been performed for 30 million rubles. By the end of December, we will have used 50 million rubles. Some progress has been made, now we are finishing preparation of inert material. The central arena has been covered with sand, brick laying is going on. In a week, we will finish the slab of the second floor, then we will begin to erect dividing walls. That means that the part of the future training halls will be 50% finished. We stick to the plan so far,” he said during the meeting with journalists on Monday, December 16.
According to the head of the construction site, the construction manager Alexander Avdeev, about 100 people working in two shifts are currently involved in the construction.
Assessing the progress of the construction work, the chairman of the regional committee of physical culture and sports Artur Panteleev remarked that all the activities needed are being conducted to commission the facilities by the end of 2014.
He recalled that the palace of martial arts will consist of two parts: the sports and entertainment unit with the arena and tribunes for 1,200 seats, and the training unit.
“There will be four carpets for various types of sport. Everything is taken into account – gyms, comfortable changing rooms, medical rooms and hotels. Moreover, the majority of urban classes will move down here – judo, sambo, boxing, Greco-Roman wrestling. So, children will get a hall like gymnasts have in “Burtasy.” The sports palace will allow all athletes involved in martial arts to concentrate on training in one place,” the head of the regional sports committee stressed.
According to official information, the value of the venue increased from 527 million rubles to 613 million rubles.
“Originally, the price was understated, that was why the palace of martial arts could not be built,” the Internet service “Penza-Sport” quotes Artur Panteleev.
