Penza, 18 December 2013. PenzaNews. The chairman of the regional committee of physical culture and sports Artur Panteleev announced the plans for construction of new sports venues in the territory of the region.

According to him, by 2020 there will be built six complex stadiums and thirty mini-complex stadiums, eight swimming pools in rural areas and an indoor ice arena in Serdobsk.

“In addition, next year OJSC Gazprom will start building a water sports palace in the micro district Ternovka in Penza and a multifunctional ice palace in Nizhnee Lomovo. As part of the federal program, a multifunctional competitive sport palace is planned to be built in Penza in Stasova Street,” Artur Panteleev said during a meeting of the council of the governor on issues of political parties, held on Tuesday, December 17.

As the press service of the regional government told news agency “PenzaNews,” within the last ten years in the Penza region there have been built 4 sports palaces, 3 complex stadiums, 46 sports and recreation centers, 23 swimming pools, 19 gyms, 5 indoor ice arenas and 17 football pitches with artificial turf.

In 2013, there were constructed a swimming pool in Shemysheika and a football pitch with artificial turf in Grabovo. In addition, the construction of a martial arts palace in Penza and a swimming pool in Tamala is going on.
