Russia’s youth hockey team advanced to semifinals of world championship

Penza, 3 January 2014. PenzaNews. Russia’s youth team, including forward from “Diesel” Georgy Busarov and Penza hockey school pupil Anton Slepyshev, advanced to the semifinals of the world championship held in Sweden.

As the press service of the Russian Hockey Federation told news agency “PenzaNews,” the national team defeated the reigning champions – the Americans – with a score of 5:3 in a match held last Thursday, January 2, with almost 1,900 thousand spectators.

“In the semifinals, the Russian team will meet with the hosts of the tournament – the Swedes. Other teams to compete for the finals will be Canadians and Finns,” RHF said.

The press service added that both matches are scheduled for Saturday, January 4.
