Penza, 16 April 2014. PenzaNews. Russian team, which includes Vladimir Aksenov from Penza club “Empire,” reached the final of the European Rugby Championship.

The tournament is held in Poland from April 10.

“In the first match, the Russian team met with athletes from Belgium. The game ended in a draw 20:20. Our team defeated the hosts of the competition in the semifinals with score 39:12,” the press officer of “Empire” Andrei Demin told news agency “PenzaNews.”

He noted that reaching the final, Russian team U18 acquired the right to participate in the qualifying tournament for division “Elite.”

“This tournament, which will take place in autumn, will be attended by the top two teams from our division “A” — Russia and Spain — and the two worst teams from division “Elite” — Portugal and Georgia,” the agency interlocutor said.

Andrei Demin also clarified that in the final of the European Rugby Championship the Russians will meet with the Spanish.

“The match will be held on Friday, April 18,” he added.
