Sambo wrestler Vladimir Balykov won gold on Russian student championship

Penza, 29 April 2014. PenzaNews. Vladimir Balykov, a representative of Penza State University, won the gold medal on Russian Sambo student championship, which took place in “Olymp” sports and recreation center in Vyksa, Nizhny Novgorod region.

He won an award in “under 68 kg” weight class.

At the same time, Ulyana Bessonova, a PSU student, has succeeded in women competition and earned silver in “under 64 kg” weight class.

The competition was a qualification for the Student Sambo World Cup, which will take part in Cyprus.

According to “Penza-Sport” web-based media, in total, 254 sportsmen from more than 75 Russian universities took part in the competition.
