15 medals won by swimmers of Penza region in competitions in Germany

Penza, 1 July 2014. PenzaNews. Athletes of the Penza region won 15 medals in various kind during 39th international youth festival in swimming, which was held in Stuttgart, Germany on June 28-29.

The competition was attended by over 700 swimmers, 1996-2006 year of birth from Germany, France, UK, USA, Egypt, Hungary, Switzerland, Russia and other countries.

The Penza region was represented by two students of children's and youth sports school of Mokshan village.

“Our boys showed good results. Artyom Bogomazov took seven medals at eight declared distances — two gold, four silver and one bronze. Even more successful was Yuri Bunin, who won seven awards of high rank, and one silver medal,” the trainer of Mokshan youth swimming school Alexander Kudryavtsev told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The agency interlocutor also noted that Yuri Bunin set a new record at the tournament. He swam 100-meter butterfly in 1 minute 14 seconds and 34 hundredths. The previous record was set during the tournament in 2007.
