Penza swimmer took gold of European Junior Championship in Swimming

Penza, 10 July 2014. PenzaNews. Penza sportswoman Maria Astashkina won the gold medal of the European Swimming Championship at 50-meter breaststroke.

The athlete managed to take the lead of 0,12 seconds over Italian Eleonora Clerici with the result of 31,90 against 32,02.

All in all, after the first day of the championship, which takes place in Dordrecht, the Russian team won three gold medals and one silver.

Gold was also taken by Arina Openysheva, Daria Mullakaeva, Maria Kudelkina and Daria Ustinova in crawl relay 4 x 100 meters, who also set a record of the competition.

At 50-meters butterfly, the two best results were demonstrated by Russians Evgeny Sedov and Alexander Sadovnikov, the Internet service “Penza-Sport” reported.
