Penza, 14 July 2014. PenzaNews. The grand opening of the new football stadium “GrAZ-Arena” was held in Grabovo village, Bessonovsky area, Penza region on Monday, July 14.

Sports facility with total area of 20.5 thousand square meters includes not only the football field but also the running tracks, as well as gymnastic and beach volleyball grounds.

As much as 20.3 mln rubles was invested in the construction of the stadium. The funding came from the budgets of the three levels — federal, regional and municipal.

Welcoming the guests, governor Vasily Bochkarev noted that the new football stadium is going to become a good platform for the competition and a great training ground.

“However, to achieve sporting victories, we must not only create the facilities, but also form an effective junior sports school, especially for football players,” the head of the region said.

Vasily Bochkarev added that sporting games help children learn to work as a team.

Then the governor handed footballs to the regional youth team and had a talk with the members of the team, the press service of the government of the Penza region informed.
