Penza swimmer Maria Astashkina won two bronze medals at FINA World Cup in Moscow

Penza, 6 October 2014. PenzaNews. Penza swimmer Maria Astashkina won two bronze medals at the 4th stage of FINA Swimming World Cup Short Course that was held in the sports complex “Olympiysky” in Moscow over the weekend, October 4-5.

The athlete won its first award at 100-meter breaststroke when she covered the distance in 1 minute 06.51 seconds.

In addition, she finished third at 200-meter breaststroke in 2 minutes 22.50 seconds.

The winner in these programs was Rie Kaneto from Japan. Among the winners were two Russians, Daria Deeva and Vitalina Simonova, respectively.

Another Penza athlete, Dmitry Gorbunov, finished fifth at 400-meters medley with 4 minutes 11,93 seconds.

As the Internet service “Penza-Sport” informs, the athletes from over 20 countries performed at Moscow stage World Cup.
