Penza, 24 October 2014. PenzaNews. The grand opening ceremony of the 3rd regional Student Teams Spartakiad was held in the sports and recreation center of the Penza State Agricultural Academy.

The official part of the event immediately transitioned into the GTO-level multidiscipline competition, along with the arm wrestling tournament.

The Spartakiad will span over two months, and will gather more than 150 participants from the top ten student teams of the Penza region.

“The regional Student Teams Spartakiad has already become a good tradition. It will include men’s and women’s football championships, volleyball, streetball, table tennis, skiing and darts competitions, as well as a relay race. Moreover, this year’s Spartakiad will include the first student cheerleading competition which becomes increasingly popular with the youth,” Artem Kolobov, the chairman of the regional Russian Students’ Teams branch.
