Penza, 29 January 2015. PenzaNews. Penza sportsmen have earned three medals on the Russian Cup in platform diving during the second day of the competition. The events were held at the “Burtasy” sports palace.

Previously, on Wednesday, January 28, Evgeny Kuznetsov successfully earned a gold medal in 3-meter springboard diving, while Ilya Zakharov earned a silver award, and other Penza athletes, Igor Koryakin and Ilya Kuzmin, reached the 7th and the 9th places respectively.

In synchronized platform diving, Valeria Belova from Penza, together with Anna Chuynysheva from St. Petersburg, earned silver awards, says the press service of the regional sports committee.

During the first day of the Cup of Russia in platform diving which started in Penza on January 27, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Ilya Zakharov earned gold medals in 3-meter trampoline diving.

Another springboard diver from Penza, Ilya Kuzmin, ended up third in the same discipline together with Maxim Popkov from Volgograd.

The junior athlete Valeria Belova reached the fourth place in women platform diving.

Overall, the athletes will be competing in nine disciplines throughout the five days of the Cup of Russia.
