Penza swimmer awarded world-class Russian sports master title

Penza, 21 April 2015. PenzaNews. Maria Astashkina, a Penza swimmer of the “Gorizont” youth sport swimming school, has been awarded the title of the Russian world-level master of sports, according to the order by the Russian Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko.
At present, the woman is participating in the Russian Swimming Championship hosted in the Moscow “Olimpiysky” sports complex swimming pool.
In December 2014, Maria Astashkina and her coach Yuri Tyukanin have won the All-Russian Federation of Swimming award in categories “Discovery of the Year” and “Coach of the Year” respectively.
The woman has won numerous awards and gold medals of international and Russian senior swimming championships.
Last June, she left no chance for any other competitors in brass swimming at the European Junior Swimming Championship, gaining three gold medals in 50, 100 and 200-meter brass.
