The Penza team won over “Kaluga” – 0:2 – in the evening of Friday, June 5.
“Artem Motov was assisted by Sergey Kolychev on the third minute and opened the score. The Kaluga players were slightly discouraged. They rushed to return the pleasure, but it was not their day. Zenit players were countering strong. Artem Motov as the active player was twice very close, but the ball barely passed by the gate. However, Artem Motov hit the rank, and Evgeny Kuznetsov redirected the goal on the run – 2:0,” the press secretary of the football club “Zenit” Nikolai Shumilin informed PenzaNews agency.
He added that his team held the second period well and did not give the home players any chances to hit the goal.
“The result is 2:0, a definitive victory of our team who won not only its opponent, but also ‘Metallurg’ from the Lipetsk region. The Penza players bypassed such football cities as Kursk, Bryansk, Orel and Podolsk. The three winners include both the unquestioned winner of ‘Center’ zone, ‘Fakel’ from Voronezh, as well as ‘Ryazan’ and ‘Tambov.’ The Penza team lost twice to ‘Fakel,’ but fought equally with the other two. They took a sweet revenge, 2:0, for a loss with 1:2 in the first round, while the games with ‘Tambov’ were a draw and a loss due to a freak goal in the end of the match,” said the speaker.
Nikolai Shumilin said the now concluded season can be written as an achievement for the Penza “Zenit” that moved up from 10th to 5th place.
“This is a success for the team of the young coach Sergei Filippenkov,” he stressed.
