Penza, 14 June 2015. PenzaNews. Elena Danilova, a representative of Moscow and the Penza region, won the 14th place in triathlon competition on Saturday, June 13, a part of the First European Games held in Baku.

The gold of the women’s event was taken by Nikola Spirig from Switzerland, who used an opportunity to take the second top-of-the-line medal for her country.

The silver of the women’s triathlon was awarded to Rachel Klamet from the Netherlands.

The best among the Russian women athletes of the event was Alexandra Razarenova who ended up seventh.

The first stage of the triathlon, a 1.5 km swim in the Caspian sea, saw Anastasiya Abrosimova going second; however, the Russian competitor could not keep up her starting pace in the 40 km bicycle race.

Alexandra Razarenova did not take the starting stage that well. She said she had the hardest time fighting the waves, says the information bureau of the Russian Olympic Committee.
