Penza, 30 June 2015. PenzaNews. The acting governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev instructed the top managers of the regional sports committee to form a package of proposals on financial restructuring of hockey club “Diesel.”

During the meeting with hockey players, fans and ministers held in the regional government hall on Tuesday, June 30, he also instructed to prepare a letter of guarantee signed by the acting chairman of the Penza region government Vladimir Volkov that will allow “Diesel” to take part in the 2015-2016 Supreme Hockey League championship.

I will study the situation. Right now, the main issue is with effectiveness of spending. We must stay within the bounds of law and use every ruble diligently. Moreover, we must learn to earn: we have an excellent arena [‘Diesel-Arena’ sports and entertainment complex] that allows us to hold mass events. We should also consider a new way of engaging the fans,” Ivan Belosertsev stressed.

Currently, the club has 22 signed contracts with the players, including 5 from the Supreme Hockey League and 17 from the Youth Hockey League, the press service of the Penza region government informed PenzaNews agency.

“The decision to involve ‘Diesel’ in the July 2015 – April 2016 Supreme Hockey League tournament will require no less than 100 million rubles of funding,” the press service elaborated.
