Penza to upgrade football stadium before World Championship without halting training
Penza, 2 September 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza officials plan to conduct and upgrade of the football stadium “Zenit” before the 2018 World Championship without interrupting the training sessions.
According to Pavel Denisyuk, co-chairman of the “Penza-2018” organization committee, the majority of stadiums that will serve as training locations are currently unused.
“The stadium ‘Zenit’ will undergo an upgrade without any interruptions in the training process. This makes the task more difficult, but gives Penza a unique advantage compared to other venues of the 2018 championship,” he pointed out during the September 1 session of “Penza-2018” committee.
In his turn, Yuri Krivov stressed that the procurement documents for the upgrade of the football field and “Zenit” sports complex must be prepared with utmost care to only allow reliable and competent companies to take part in the auction.
“The erection of a training ground with no interruptions to the process is one of the most vital tasks we need to resolve during the upgrade of ‘Zenit’ stadium. This will allow hundreds of junior footballers hone their skills,” said the city administration head.
The members of the committee suggested inviting other members, including businessmen and tourism managers, public representatives, and the media, the press service of the city hall told PenzaNews agency.
