Denis Ayrapetyan from Penza seeks to enter Russian short track skating team

Penza, 6 September 2015. PenzaNews. Denis Ayrapetyan, student of the Penza region sports education center, is included in the list of potential members of the Russian team for the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

The athlete was included in the list of the 32 who will compete with each other to be included in the country’s short track skating team.

The Russian sports team gathering committee compiled a list of 731 athletes who are preparing for the major competition of the recent four years.

The list of sportsmen under review is formed every year using the information of the Russian sports federations, says the website of the Penza region sports education center.

The XXIII Winter Olympic Games will be held in South Korea on February 9-25, 2018.

A total of 15 winter sports disciplines organized as 7 Olympic sports are scheduled for the Olympics. These include figure skating, speed skating and short track skating; Alpine, cross-country skiing, freestyle, Nordic combined, ski jumping and snowboarding; bobsleigh and skeleton; and biathlon, curling, ice hockey and luge.
