The joint team of the Volga Federal District, featuring Denis Ablyazin, Vladislav Polyashov, Ivan Tikhonov and Valentin Starikov, earned the fifth place in the team competition of the Russian Gymnastics Cup held at the “Burtasy” sports palace in Penza on Wednesday, September 16.

The winning team of Daniil Kazachkov, Nikita Ignatyev, Andrei Cherkasov and Grigory Zyryanov came from the Siberian Federal District. They earned a total of 261.25 points.

The second place on the pedestal was taken by the Moscow athletes – Dmitry Lankin, Nikita Nagorin, Alexei Kosyanov and Artur Dalaloyan. The judges gave them 254.40 points.

The bronze medals were awarded to the team of the Central Federal District – Ilya Kibartas, Nikolai Kuksenkov, Kirill Prokopyev and Alexei Rostov – with 252.95 points under the belt.

The team of the Ural Federal District – Mikhail Kudashov, Sergei Danilekno, Nikita Lezhankin and David Belyavsky – stopped short of the top three.
