“Khimik” dominated the field during the first period, with a logical conclusion in the form of a goal scored during the power play as Vladislav Provolnyev made a sniper-accuracy shot to the upper corner, bringing the score up to 1:0.

The game flow evened up during the second period, and one of counterattacks by “Diesel” resulted in a success. After a video review, the judge ruled in their favor, and Vladislav Vorobyev changed the tableau sign to 1:1.

The home team started the final period at a disadvantage, but this did not hold them from making a successful push: Egor Aleshin brought “Khimik” forward, and shortly afterwards Egor Yudov widened the gap by one more goal. The disruption was further exacerbated by a score from the team captain Alexander Neznamov – 4:1.

The stroke of bad luck for “Diesel” continues, said the head coach Andrei Nikishov.

“But there are no victories without losses. We have to keep stiff upper lip and work on,” the coach said.

“As for today’s play – the failed objectives have negated all training pushes. Sadly, there are very few levers of influence to make the players stay with the strategy. We will deal with that and bring it up to order. We will go on,” the press service of Penza “Diesel” quotes Andrei Nikishov.

After 19 matches, the club went down to the 23rd place in the tournament with 20 points, “Khimik,” “Kristall” and “Zvezda-VDV” being the only three teams that fare worse.

The team will play its next match in Moscow’s Chekhov town against “Zvezda” on Monday, November 9.
