Penza, 6 December 2015. PenzaNews. Alexander Bryukhankov, athlete of the Penza region sports education center, was included in the roster of the Russian national triathlon team, has begun his course of preparations.
His next important start will take place in the first stage of Abu Dhabi World Series on 6 March 2016.
The coaches have included a total of 10 persons in the team, four men and six women, and designated the five players who will compete at Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games: Dmitry Polyansky, Alexander Bryukhankov, Igor Polyansky, Alexandra Razarenova, and Anastasiya Abrosimova.
“They have enough points in their Olympic ratings, and good chances to go to Rio. All five athletes have joined the Russian national team in a centralized training program. All are healthy and feel optimistic. Sadly, our financial situation bars us from inviting all athletes with potential. So I would like to thank the sportsmen from six Russian regions – the Penza region, the Yaroslavl region, the Krasnodar Krai, the Krasnoyarsk Krai, Moscow, and St. Petersburg,” Dmitry Butkov, head coach of the Russian national triathlon team, pointed out.
The women’s part of the team still has the third place unoccupied. Two more athletes of the Penza region sports education center, Elena Danilova and Arina Shulgina, as well as Maria Shorets and Valentina Zapatrina for St. Petersburg, can take this place.
The Russian national team held its first general preparation meeting in Kislovodsk in November, and currently the athletes are training by Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan, says the press service of the Penza region sports education center.
