Penza, 6 December 2015. PenzaNews. The sports palace “Voeykov” will hold the 4th open Penza city championship in Eastern martial arts and Shotokan Karate on Saturday, December 12.

The city-wide junior competition will take place on the same day.

“The event takes place to choose the strongest athletes for the adult and junior Eastern martial arts championships of the Volga Federal District that will take place in Tolyatty in January,” Alexei Yeliseev, president of the Penza region Eastern Martial Arts Federation, board chairman of the martial arts center “Fort,” told PenzaNews agency.

Penza will be represented by students of the children’s arts center No. 1, martial arts clubs “Mechta,” “Voskhod,” “Vympel” and “Ogonek,” and the center “Fort.”

“We also expect fighters from the Mokshansk, Bessonovka, Zemetchino, Sosnovoborsk areas of the Penza region, and the strongest from the Saratov region – more than 200 people overall,” he stressed.

The championship will begin at 10.00, with the official opening ceremony taking place at 13.00.
