Young Penza chess players gather together for “Christmas Meetings”

Penza, 3 January 2016. PenzaNews. The branch department of the Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve No. 7 on Rakhmaninova street in Penza has begun the city-wide chess competition for children “Christmas Meetings.”

The Swiss-system children’s tournament will be held in five groups between contestants aged 5-16.
In particular, tournament group A will be composed of contestants with regional ELO rating of 1550+; tournament group B – 1300-1549; C – 1200-1299; D – 1100-1199; E – 1000-1099.
The players without a regional rating entry will begin from a standard beginner’s position according to their category.
The “Christmas Meetings” tournament will continue through January 6, the Penza city committee on physical education, sports and youth policy informed PenzaNews agency.
